Hrithik injured while learning horse riding

2006 has been a learning year for Hrithik. First he learnt some martial arts for Krrish, then roller blading, snow boarding and sand surfing for Dhoom 2 and now he is learning horse riding and sword fighting lessons for his next movie to go on floors – Akbar Jodha. His riding lessons start every morning at 7 am at the Mahalaxmi racecourse. And on one such training day, Hrithik fell down from the horse while the animal was still in motion. Since his leg was stuck up, he was pulled for a considerable distance by the horse, which gave him some deep wounds on his body and bruises on his arms.

But a true blue (super)hero that he is, Hrithik did not go back home to nurse his wounds but bounced back and continued with his horse-riding lessons. In fact he didn’t even skip his sword-fighting lessons in the evening.

That calls for his professionalism.

'Jodha Akbar' in trouble

Ashutosh Gowarikar 's ambitious project Jodha Akbar that stars the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai and the handsome Hrithik Roshan in the title roles, has run into trouble.

The shooting of the film that was supposed to commence in coming weeks has met with huge resistance from Kshatriya segment of society, especially those belonging to the princely states of Rajasthan.

The film has Hrithik and Ash in the roles of Akbar, the great Mughal emperor and Jodhabhai, a Hindu princess married with Akbar, respectively.

Surajmal Singh, the chief of Rajput youths in Rajasthan, has been resenting Jodhabhai's portrayal in the wrong frame her and characterization in films and TV channels in the past.

According to him, there has been a big misconception about Jodhabhai and it has been repeated many times by the entertainment and media world. He adds that there are no proofs of Jodhabhai's marriage with Akbar in historical records.

In fact, it was Pannabhai (the look alike of Jodhabhai) who was married with emperor Akbar and not Jodhabhai.

The agitated Rajputs have been asking the filmmakers to prove the relevant facts before commencing the film's shooting in Rajasthan.

These Rajputs have threatened to take legal action against the producers if they fail to abide by the historical facts about Akbar and Jodhabhai.

Nikhil Advani's next?

Film industry and gossip/rumors go hand in hand. In fact, it’s become a habit to hear at least one startling news in the course of the day and later, when you do a bit of cross-checking, you learn that it was a false siren. This time, Nikhil Advani is the topic of discussion!

Reportedly, Nikhil is planning a four-hero project next, once SALAAM-E-ISHQ releases, for which he’s keen to cast Big B, Hrithik Roshan, Akshaye Khanna and John Abraham in principal roles. A news-report even suggests that Nikhil has already paid a handsome signing amount to John.

“Rubbish,” Nikhil laughs aloud, “Where do these rumors originate from? I don’t know what I plan to make next, so how could I be signing the stars for it? I wrapped the shooting of SALAAM-E-ISHQ on Sunday [15th October] and the next three months would be devoted to the post-production work. Where’s the time to think of a new film?”

But there can’t be smoke without fire. The director of KAL HO NAA HO must’ve planned something. “Oh yes, I’ve planned to take a year off once SALAAM-E-ISHQ releases in January 2007. I have decided I won’t work for a year. I owe it to myself and my wife. SALAAM-E-ISHQ has exhausted me completely and I need to recharge my batteries,” he smiles.

All eyes are on SALAAM-E-ISHQ for sure. In fact, it’s amongst the three big films that are slated for release in January 2007. Initially slated for a 26th January release, Nikhil has decided to prepone the release by one day, which means SALAAM-E-ISHQ will hit the marquee on Thursday, 25th January.

While the first teaser of SALAAM-E-ISHQ will be unveiled with JAAN-E-MANN, the promotion of the film will gather momentum from 7th November onwards.

James Bond to arrive a week before 'Dhoom 2'

While Yashraj Films' 'Dhoom 2' was moved from the Diwali weekend to November 24th a few months ago, it has some competition in the form of 'Casino Royale', yet another addition in the James Bond legacy, that releases on November 17th. Both the flicks are based on an action theme and boast of some never seen before action sequences.

Daniel Craig, latest addition as James Bond, bringing on the challenge to the might of Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan? Now that calls for some real 'masti' and 'dhoom'!
